Timanfaya National Park Entrance Fee

The Timanfaya entrance fee: €30 an adult, under 7s free, online only with a set entry time, 09:00 to 15:45 daily (CACT, Oct 2026). What it covers, and when a tour costs less effort.

Updated October 2026

The Timanfaya National Park entrance fee is €30 for an adult, and free for children up to 6, at Montañas del Fuego, the visit inside the park (CACT Lanzarote, October 2026). The ticket is sold online only, for a set date and entry time between 09:00 and 15:45, every day of the year, and it covers the Ruta de los Volcanes coach and the heat demonstrations at Islote de Hilario. A tour includes it: Low Cost Tours Europe’s half-day tour, from US$66 a person (checked October 2026), adds the coach from your resort and a guide.

What the fee covers

  • The Ruta de los Volcanes. The park’s coach leaves Islote de Hilario every 20 minutes for a route of about 14 km through the craters and lava fields, with an audio guide in Spanish and English, about 40 minutes on board (CACT’s figures; the Canary Islands government’s park page gives 12 km and 45 minutes).
  • The heat demonstrations at Islote de Hilario, where guides show how hot the ground still is a few metres down.
  • The car park at Islote de Hilario, beside El Diablo restaurant.

CACT puts the whole visit at about an hour and a quarter. A meal at El Diablo is not included, and neither is the camel ride at the Echadero de los Camellos on the road in, which is paid in cash there.

Opening times and the time slot

Map of southern Lanzarote with Timanfaya National Park shaded, Islote de Hilario inside it, the Echadero de los Camellos at its southern edge, the Mancha Blanca visitor centre to the north-east, Yaiza and Uga to the south, El Golfo on the west coast, and Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen on the south coast
Islote de Hilario, where the ticket takes you, in the middle of the park; the road in passes the camel Echadero.

The Ruta de los Volcanes runs every day from 09:00 to 15:45, and when you buy you choose an entry time. That time is fixed: you are asked to arrive 15 minutes before it, you cannot go in earlier or later, there is no waiting area, and tickets cannot be changed or refunded. A time shown as unavailable is full, so try another hour or day.

On the drive in you stay in your car from El Taro, at the park’s edge, to the car park at Islote de Hilario. CACT warns that the car park is on a slope, so open your door with care.

Who pays less

Children up to 6 go free. Residents of the Canary Islands and of Lanzarote, and people with disabilities, have special rates, sold at the ticket offices on showing proof and not combinable. CACT’s pages say both this and that there are no box-office sales, so residents should check with CACT how to buy before travelling. For a small-group visit to places the ordinary ticket does not reach, CACT’s Experiencia Insólita, €59.90, starts at 08:45 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays: two hours with a guide, the volcano route, a climb of Montaña Rajada, the Refugio de Tinecheide and a tasting at the end.

With a car and a plan, the ticket alone is the cheapest way in. Without a car, a tour costs more than the ticket but saves you a taxi there and back, and the wait for it. If you have a car but would rather not watch the clock for a slot, the express visit from Yaiza is the middle way.
